I’ve tried several times to try and add the widget to the sidebar and I have been unsuccessful (it could be user error, but I really did follow all of the instructions…)
So, I decided to try and just add the widget to a post and see if that works! 
hmm? is it there? nope on try 1… (I deleted the mess of code)
try #2: (again deleted all the mess of code…)

OK, I guess I’ll give up for now on the widget.
